Concrete Cost Calculator

Estimate what a concrete pour will cost. Enter the dimensions and your local ready-mix price per cubic yard — the calculator returns the total ready-mix cost and compares it against buying the same volume in 80 lb bags.

Estimated concrete cost

    How it works

Cubic yards = length × width × (thickness ÷ 12) ÷ 27, plus waste. Ready-mix cost = cubic yards × your price per cubic yard. Bagged cost assumes 80 lb bags (≈0.60 cu ft each) at about $5.50 per bag — useful for small pours where bags beat a short-load fee.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does a yard of concrete cost?

Ready-mix commonly runs about $140–$180 per cubic yard delivered, before short-load, fuel or pump fees. Prices vary by region and mix, so enter your local quote for a real number.

Is bagged or ready-mix concrete cheaper?

Bagged is usually cheaper for small pours under about a cubic yard; ready-mix wins on larger jobs once the short-load fee is spread over more volume. The calculator shows both so you can decide.

    What is a short-load fee?

Suppliers add a short-load fee when you order less than a full or minimum load (often under 4–5 yards). It can be $50–$150+, which is what tips small jobs toward bags.
